Welcome
My name is Kelsey and I am the maker behind KBullen Ceramics. I create out of my home studio in Qualicum Beach, Canada. I first touched clay in 2019 and like many others, I was hooked. After spending over a decade studying and working as an accountant, I welcomed the opportunity to work with my hands and nurture my creativity.
I am drawn to create forms that celebrate simplicity and am forever inspired by colours found in nature. I aim to create timeless ceramics that will fit seamlessly into your existing collections of loved objects. I believe there is an inherent beauty in handmade goods and invite you to surround yourself with objects that spark joy.
My ceramics are thoughtfully made in small batches. My work is primarily thrown on the potter’s wheel and I mix all of my own glazes. I have great respect for mother earth and take special care to create responsibly. I am always looking for ways to improve my processes and use as few resources as possible. When available, I source materials from Canada and support local supply chains.
I acknowledge that I am fortunate to live, work, and play on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples and that of the Qualicum First Nations.
